       As authors, educators, mothers, & innovators of our community and society, it is our intention that you take the African Children's Manifesto and read it to spur continuous dialogue as well as urgent action to ensure that our young men who are a vital part of our existence be cared for and educated to the highest standards that we hold for them. We know who they are and it is up to us, the African American community, to inspire them into greatness!

“Once we collectively do the work of studying what our children need to gain most in the educational system, we can approach that system with concrete solutions, suggestions and, eventually, demands.  We can also take the lead in developing alternate educational settings for our children that are affordable, sustainable and productive.”
